Description: Located in Kent, Canterbury sits on the River Stour. Canterbury was traditionally part of the silk industry but this declined in the early 1800s due to competition abroad. It was connected to the rail network in 1830 which helped Canterbury to grow as it was the world's first passenger railway. It was extensively bombed during the Second World War.
