Description: Located in East Sussex, Brighton sits on the southern coast of England. Traditionally a fishing village, it started to become a destination of holiday-makers in the late 1700s. This only increased under the Victorians. In 1801 the population was just 7,000. Brighton was connected to the rail network in 1841 which only increased this trend but also encouraged day trippers to visit. By 1901 population of Brighton had reached 120,000.
