Description: Located in Buckinghamshire, Aylesbury sits to the east of the county on the Grand Union canal. Having good access to London, Aylesbury was tradtionally a market town, produced flour, lace, clocks and made needles. They also reared the Aylesbury duck, which was white in colour, used mainly for meat. Aylesbury was connected to the Grand Union canal in 1814 and the town boomed, employing many in printing and bookbinding. Nestle was another major employer. Aylesbury was connected to the rail network in 1839.
