Description: Located in North Yorkshire, Scarbrough is situated on the coast. Always a tourist destination, Scarbrough was connected to the rail network in 1845 which increased visitors again. As a result, hotels and associated trades sprang up. However, it was the fishing industry that was it's backbone. Scarbrough was shelled by the German navy during the First World War.
