Description: Located in West Yorkshire, Halifax was traditionally part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. A large textile town prior to the industrial revolution, centred around the Piece Hall. Halifax also has a confectionery legacy with Mackintosh toffee opening in 1890. Carpet manufacturing, textiles and brewing were all large employers.
