North-East, North-West, South-East, South-West, Midlands, London, East Anglia

Description: Located in Worcestershire, Worcester is the county town and is situated on the River Severn. Famous for it's ceramic industry, particularly Royal Worcester Porcelain, founded in 1751. It was connected to the canal network in 1815. Not an industrial town, Worcester did not suffer the enormous growth of other towns and cities in the West Midlands. Worcester did have a large glove-making industry. Towards the end of the 1800s, some iron foundries were started as well as a mail-order business, Kays. In 1897, Lea and Perrin's Worcestershire Sauce factory was created.
