Description: Located in Oxfordshire, Oxford is the county town situated on the River Cherwell a River Thames. Famous for it's univeristy, which has been established since the 12th century. Connected to the Oxford canal (running to Birmingham and Coventry) in 1790, which joined the River Thames, they also joined the rail network in 1844. Major employers, aside from the university, were print and publishing industries. They also had a successful brewing industry, Morrels, which was started in 1743. In the 1920's the motor industry was established in Oxford through Morris Motor Company, helping to employ close to 20,000.
