Description: Located in the East of Nottinghamshire, Mansfield sits upon the River Maun. Whilst Mansfield did have some level of connection to the local railway network these subsided over the years, remaining as freight only lines. As a result, population did not soar as in other industrial areas. Mansfield brewery was a large employer here. There was also a large shoe-making industry.
