Description: Someone who worked in the textile industry operating a machine used for twisting yarns and threads together onto a bobbin. This worked by threading the cotton through the traveller, a small ring that moves up and down. From here it is pulled around the ring, which also moves up and down and provides the shape on the bobbin. It finally twists onto the bobbin which is itself turning on a spindle.
