Description: Someone, often a man, who cut men's hair, trimmed their beards and shaved their faces. Historically, babers also acted as dentists and performed some surgery. In fact, the barber's pole (red and white swirling lines) represents both surgery (red) and barbery (white). See also: Hairdresser.
