Description: Someone who was a high ranking officer of the Royal Navy, usually promoted from Vice-Admiral. They ranked below Admiral of the Fleet (in the British navy the colour of Red, White or Blue was used to show rank between the fleets until 1864). Also known as Flag Officers, a generic term to high-ranking naval officers.
