Description: The battle of Neuve Chapelle was fought between the German empire and Britain (including Indian troops) in March 1915. It took at Neuve Chapelle located in the Artois region of France. The major aim was communications disruption. Initial attacks were highly successful, capturing Neuve Chapelle itself. However, poor communications led to a halt in the advance. German counter-attacks were unsuccessful but stopped any thought of further allied attempts to advance. The result was indecisive with 11,200 killed, wounded or missing, 7,000 of which were British.
