Description: Formed in 1685 as the Earl of Bath's Regiment. They saw action during the War of the Spanish Succession. In 1751 they were renamed the 10th Regiment of Foot. They saw action during the American War of Independence. They saw action during the Napoleonic Wars, fighting in Egypt, and the Iberian Peninsula. In 1881 they were renamed the Lincolnshire Regiment. During the First World War they fought along the Western, African and Middle Eastern fronts at such battles as Mons, Le Cateau, Marne, Aisne, Messines, the 1st battle of Ypres, Neuve Chapelle, Aubers Bridge, Loos, the Somme (1916), the Hindenburg Line, Arras, Cambrai, the 1st battle of the Somme (1918), Lys, the 2nd battle of the Somme (1918), Selle, Passchendaele and Gallipoli, During the Second World War they fought across the Western, African, and Far Eastern fronts at battles such as the Dunkirk evacuations, the Normandy landings, Arnhem and the invasion of Italy. They were renamed the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment. In 1948 they became part of the Forester Brigade along with The Royal Warwickshire Regiment, Leicestershire (17th) and The Sherwood Foresters. It was disolved in 1963 with the Royal Leicesters and Royal Lincolns becoming part of the East Anglian Brigade. In 1964 the whole of the East Anglian Brigade was amalgamated forming The Royal Anglian Regiment. Their nickname is The Poachers or The Springers.
