Description: Formed in 1758 by a re-designation of a battalion of the 20th Regiment of Foot. In 1782 they were renamed the 67th (South Hampshire) Regiment of Foot. In 1881 they formed the Hampshire Regiment after amalgamating with the 37th (North Hampshire) Regiment. During the First World War they fought across the Western, Turkish, Greek and Middle Eastern fronts at battles such as Mons, Le Cateau, WWI: Marne, Aisne, Messines, the 1st battle of Ypres, the 2nd battle of Ypres, the Somme (1916), the Hindenburg Line, Arras, the 1st battle of the Somme (1918), Lys, the Advance in Flanders, the 2nd battle of Arras (1917), Selle, Valenciennes, Passchendaele, Gallipoli, Salonika and the 3rd battle of the Gaza. During the Second World War they fought across the Western, African, Italian and Middle Eastern fronts and were involved in the Dunkirk evacuations, and the Normandy landings on Gold beach as well as the invasion of Italy and Operation Market Garden. In 1946 they were given royal status and renamed the Royal Hampshire Regiment. In 1992 they were merged with The Queen's Regiment, forming The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment. Their nickname is The Sixty-Seventh.
