Description: No.55 squadron was active from 1916. It was comprised of Avro 504, Armstrong Whitworth FK8 and Royal Aircraft Factory BE2 aircraft. In 1919 they converted to Airco DH4s to perform bombing missions. In 1920 they were reformed from 142 Squadron.
