World War One

Description: Initially part of the Royal Flying Corps they were active from 1912. The squadron was comprised of Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2s. They took part in the following battles: the battle of the Somme, and the 2nd battle of Ypres.

World War Two

Description: The number 2 squadron was comprised of Lysander, Tomahawk, Mustang and Spitfire aircraft. They took part in the Dunkirk evacuations, the Normandy landings, part of Operation Overlord, and the battle of Arnhem, also known as Operation Market Garden.
